Dr. Shawn Long was born July 4, 1966 in Denver, Colorado.  He was reared in the small town of LaOtto Near Auburn, Indiana since 1968.   He graduated from East Noble High School in 1984.  He attended Indiana University (BA) in 1990 and graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1994.  He graduated at the top of his class and received a scholarship for academic achievement.  He then went on to Ohio State University College of Dentistry for a Teaching Surgical Fellowship.  He completed his Orthodontic training in 1997 at Eastman Dental Center, recognized as one of the top orthodontic schools in the country.  

Dr. Long is an active member of many professional organizations, including North Central Dental Society, American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association.

Dr. Long has practiced Orthodontics in Northern Indiana since 1997 before establishing his own Orthodontic practice in South Bend and Elkhart Indiana. It is important  to him to raise his family in a community with the same morals and values as his childhood.  He is extremely talented technically and is well liked by all of his patients and team members.  His family includes his wife, Patricia and their three children, Bradley (born in 1997), Genna (born in 2000) and Clayton (born in 2002).

His hobbies include quality family time, vintage automobiles (mainly Shelby Mustangs), a variety of sports (weight lifting, running, rugby and tries to play golf.)
